So says this ZDNet Blogger. The article suggests using ies4linux to get around the problem. Though one commenter has a far more elegant solution: Change the user agent setting.

There are still parts of the world where a 386 is cool. For the Linux user, that means lighter and faster distros are king. While it’s doubtful that Belgium counts, this fellow has written a wonderful review of several small Linux distros.

PC World Missed the Nokia/Linux News

PC World is reporting that Linux may be used on new Nokia Phones. The apparently missed the announcement Nokia made days earlier in response to articles like the one above.

Sorry, PC World, Nokia isn’t planning any Linux handsets.

Donating to FOSS projects

With the large number of projects included in most distributions, there is always a question of who to best donate money to. At present, there is a nifty discussion on Slashdot on this very topic.

A donation to Richard Stallman’s GNU Project would be a worthy cause, without any doubt. Love him or hate him, his contribution cannot be underestimated.

It looks like you’ll be okay if you’re already running the 2.6.22.7 kernel. Mandriva users can run MandrivaUpdate or urpmi to automatically update.

Linux Sales in China Grow 22%

According to vnunet despite a 22.6% growth in market share, revenue was a paltry $5.42m in Q1 of 2008.

Unfortunately, with easy access to pirate copies of windows available in China a good number of Linux installations will likely be replaced.
